Mary Lou’s beloved Kona was stolen from the rack outside of the Honest Weight Food Co-op two nights ago. It was locked and the lock was cut, as was the lock on a blue Cannondale that was next to it. We will be doing a pre or post critical mass “look for Mary Lou’s bike” ride. If interested please let us know!
If you see this bike, throw a lock or ten around it and call the police.
I want to ask everyone to do a big favor for me. Santa cruz has this really cool ride called Hellride, anyone can enter. About 1000 riders enter, they narrow it down to 16 riders. I made the cut. From those 16, they take the top 4 riders based on how many votes they get. Thats where you come in. Go to the Santa Cruz bicycle website, on the front page, there is a link to Hellride 5. Click on the link and vote for me, J wozniak on the Moots. This would be an awesome ride to be able to do, so please go vote, and vote often, and tell anyone you can to go and also vote for me. To make it easy, I have included the link that you can use to go and vote for me. Thank you so much. J Wozniak.

Lets help out our #1 ranked Alleycat racer and get him into a race where he might not actually win by an hour!
He’s 3rd row, 2nd column for those who are lazy.
Thanks to all 19 of you for coming out and having a blast fooling around in graveyards this past weekend despite the heat and humid and smelly undead. Those of you who were complete pussies missed a great rid, and kickass prizes including an Ultegra front wheel, a SRAM Force brakeset, and a very useful copy of the Zombie Survival Guide. Too bad all the blisters drove the CBRC guys home, there was beer. Socks, guys. Great inventions.

This is music to my ears. From the article:
The owner of Dixon’s Bicycle Shop in Park Slope, Brooklyn, David Dixon, said that over Memorial Day weekend, his store sold all 25 of its Jamis hybrid bikes - a cross between a racing bike and a mountain bike that sells for between $285 and $335 and is favored among commuters. Early this week, Mr. Dixon called Jamis to order about 50 more bikes and was told that a shipment wouldn’t arrive until the end of the week. “They’re all gone. It’s wicked,” Mr. Dixon said. “This isn’t usual at all. The price of gas is affecting everyone.”
“We ended up selling very heavily,” the owner of Bicycle Habitat in SoHo, Charles McCorkell, said. “I thought there would be a shortage.”
